I get asked the question “what’s the best thing to do in the gym for weight loss?”
The answer to this question will vary from trainer to trainer, my view is that High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is the best type of training to burn body fat. I put the focus on burning body fat rather than loosing weight, this is because muscle weighs more than fat, therefore you might well be burning body fat and dropping down a dress or trouser size but not changing a great deal on the scales.
HIIT involves raising and lowering your heart rate over set intervals – circuit training and bootcamps are great for this type of training.
t’s also important to consider nutrition in any weight loss goal – my view is it’s 80% what you eat and 20% the work you do in the gym, so getting a good Nutritionist or Personal Trainer to look at your nutrition is really important as part of your weight loss journey.
